Josef Průša: Ever since I built the first 3D printer, I have been dedicated to making 3D printing more accessible.
One of them dreams of a slicer that can run on any device and is so smooth that anyone can use it.
We've finally made it a reality! After countless hours of development and testing, I'm proud to launch Prusa EasyPrint!
It completely changed the game: slicing on phones and tablets has never been easier.

Eliminating Slicing Obstacles – What is EasyPrint?
Although many of us are completely used to dragging and dropping models into PrusaSlicer and selecting preset profiles, it's not as easy as it sounds for beginners.
The inconvenience is only a little bit caused by simply installing a new application.
Then, you must also import the correct configuration file for your printer.
You need to know where to click to select the correct material, etc.
With EasyPrint, all of this becomes streamlined and extremely simple.
This is the simplest and most seamless slice you've ever experienced.
You are viewing printable material on your mobile phone, computer, or tablet.
Find your favorite model and simply click to go directly to the 3D preview.
It will automatically detect your printer in PrusaConnect, apply the correct profile, and you can simply click "Print".
It boasts many convenient and intuitive features. You can quickly move, rotate, or scale models if you wish, use the surface placement function to automatically arrange large numbers of models on one or more virtual print beds, and much more.
We've even implemented a simple "shopping cart" for printable materials, so you can add more models to this cart while browsing printable materials and then print them all at once.
You can also change basic settings - print quality, fill, support, and more.
That's how it works; anything more complex is intentionally kept behind the scenes and configured automatically.
Remember when we launched Printables and emphasized the ability to share G code?
The goal is the same: to make 3D printing more widespread.
For beginners: If you are new to 3D printing, slicing can be overwhelming, but EasyPrint can remove that barrier.
No complicated setup or profile settings required - just click, slice, and print.
Anyone can do this; no experience is required. No guides or tutorials are needed.
Chromebook users (schools): No special software installation or system restrictions need to be overcome.
Students and teachers simply need to open a tab, prepare their 3D models, and then send them to print.
Alternatively, download the G code to a USB flash drive.
Advanced tablet users: How to use Shapr3D for modeling on an iPad?
You do not need to transfer the file to your computer for slicing.
Your Non-3D Printing Friends and Family: Tired of being a "3D printing specialist" for your friends and family in life?
Now, your partner, children, siblings, or parents can handle their own projects.
Slice anytime, anywhere: If you are already familiar with slicers, Prusa EasyPrint is still very convenient.
You can start printing via your phone while relaxing on the sofa – perfect when you know you'll be using the default settings anyway.

How does it work?
We are confident that this will be copied soon, so there is no reason to keep its workings a secret.
Prusa EasyPrint is a clean, responsive web application that lets you move 3D models and set some basic settings.
It integrates tightly with our services, such as Printables and the Prusa mobile app, so it knows which printers you have, what materials are loaded, and whether your printers are ready.
It can easily import models from Printables or from native storage.
Once you click print, it sends the entire scene to PrusaSlicer, which runs on a powerful server, and generates G code that is then sent to your printer.

If you're reading this article, you might be thinking: Oh no—this is just another way to lock users into a cloud platform.
I really hope you can consider this, because it is an important issue today.
Let me explain why this isn't the case here.
First, Prusa EasyPrint is completely optional.
If you prefer, you can continue using PrusaSlicer locally on your computer without ever touching Prusa EasyPrint.
In fact, Prusa EasyPrint is not a true slicer—it is a web frontend that produces 3MF archives compatible with most modern slicers.
The interface runs on your device, while the actual slicing occurs in the cloud on our servers.
We use the same version of PrusaSlicer as the publicly released one; you can find its source code on GitHub.
The web frontend is not open source (similar to Printables or PrusaConnect), but because the frontend relies on PrusaSlicer and its performance and features, we are more motivated than ever to continue improving our standalone application.
In fact, one of my favorite features is how the two work together seamlessly.

You can click the button at any time to download your project and open it in PrusaSlicer on your computer.
All content (model, orientation, settings) is saved as a 3MF file.
From there, you can fine-tune it using advanced tools such as drawing support or custom modifiers.
Then, you can simply export the G code file, put it on a USB drive, or send it to a printer via the local network.
Most importantly, there's no other way to enable slicing on Android tablets and phones, for example, costing around $200. Trust me, we've tried.
The basic requirements for such devices (such as RAM limitations) are so stringent that our attempts have all failed, so this is the only way to provide this functionality, at least for the foreseeable future.
I also hope that our track record will speak for itself.
Security is one of our main selling points, and our printers are used by leading companies, universities, and research institutions around the world.

This application is designed to run all PrusaSlicer-derived slicers (Orca, BambuStudio, and a large number of other slicers) alternately in the background.
Therefore, I will briefly reveal that we plan to open this feature to non-Prusa 3D printer users in the future.
Of course, the timing is still uncertain, as we need to gather all the information from the testing and ensure everything is stable after accepting all Prusa users.
3D printing should be open to everyone. We don't want to build any walled gardens.
In fact, quite the opposite—we want 3D printing to be easier for everyone.
Use with offline printers
We've added an "Add Offline Printer" button, allowing you to select printers that are not connected to the internet.
Therefore, you can use cloud slicing and a simple user interface to slice models for printers that run offline.
Finally, you simply need to download the G code and transfer it to the printer via USB/SD card.

This is just the beginning. We know there's room for improvement, such as deeper mobile app integration and more features.
If you've tried Prusa EasyPrint, please let us know what you think.

Happy printing!
