Previously, the functionality of the Multiplier relied on pre-set material profiles. With the newly added Custom Mode, you can flexibly fine-tune the Multiplier settings, optimizing it for a wide variety of thermoforming materials. Custom Mode allows you to freely experiment with genuine Mayku materials, as well as third-party materials and various other thermoforming sheets.
Using Custom Mode, you can learn the settings for new thermoforming sheets in just a few minutes. The Multiplier can store and edit hundreds of material profiles, making it easy to manage materials from various manufacturers. You can also edit saved material data even after forming.
All thermoforming materials ranging from 0.1mm to 5mm thick can be used in Custom Mode. Furthermore, when combined with the Reducing Plate, you can create profiles that support materials thicker than 5mm, expanding its applications even further. These enhancements allow engineers, designers, and educators to test, evaluate, and optimize various industrial-grade thermoforming materials.
How to get Custom Mode
All Mayku Multiplier users can access Custom Mode by upgrading to Multiplier 2.0. The update takes just a few seconds. If you need support, please refer to the Mayku learning resources.

Thermoforming Procedure using Custom Mode
1. Select your sheet material
First, select the sheet material suitable for your project. You can use full-size circular sheets with a diameter of 428mm. With the Reducing Plate, you can also use A4 or US Letter size sheets, allowing for more efficient material usage when creating smaller models.

2. Create a custom material profile
• Navigate to "Materials List"
• Select "New Material"
• Enter "Material Type," "Temperature," and "Pressure."
* The optimal forming temperature and pressure vary for each material. Generally, thicker sheets require higher pressure. For example, a 1mm thick HIPS sheet might require about 160°C and 45 PSI, while a 3mm HIPS sheet might need around 160°C and 60 PSI. Please experiment with the optimal settings for your actual application.
The following parameters can also be adjusted:
• Form Time: The duration for which pressure is applied to the sheet.
• Cool Time: The time for cooling after pressure release.
• Heater on at Pressure: Sets the timing for heater activation. For fast-heating materials, adjusting this value can reduce waiting time.
3. Calibrate the sheet
The Multiplier uses a small internal pump to keep the sheet level, ensuring stability during heating.
• Select "Calibrate."

• During calibration, use the up and down arrow buttons on the unit to adjust the sheet to be as level as possible.


* Correct calibration is crucial. It prevents issues such as sheet tilting, the unit not closing properly, and uneven heating.
4. Save the material profile
Once calibration is complete, you can save the material profile. You can use the auto-generated name or change it to a more recognizable one later.
