When I was studying for my master's degree at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Professor Lin Meng-yen was giving a talk about the sharing economy through Airbnb. So we really started from a guest room in our home and have now obtained a hotel license and become a chain. Our initial intention was 1 for the beginning, 0 for a complete success, and 9 for longevity. 109 was originally a clothing brand run by my parents. The three of us girls grew up in the "city center" area at the intersection of Taipei Main Station, Ximen, and the Presidential Office Building. We love our environment and cultural heritage and wanted to share it with more people. With the help of the Airbnb platform, we expanded from a guest room in our home to the current 109 Hostel, creating a comfortable home away from home. It blends the old city of Taipei with modern style, the transportation of the city center, and the neighborhood of the old city. From the counter to the balcony, from travel to sincerity.
The hotel offers a variety of room types, including 10-person and 8-person backpacker group rooms, as well as scenic private suites, panoramic quad suites, and deluxe double rooms with two large double beds. It's perfect for backpackers, small families, and groups of friends. Through Matterport's virtual reality scanning, guests can virtually tour the rooms online in 360-degree panoramic view before actually arriving at the hotel and choose their preferred room type.
