[Unboxing Review] Flashforge Resin 3D Printer, 4x Build Volume!

Same desktop size, but 4x the build volume? The newly launched "Flashforge Foto 13.3-inch LCD 3D Printer" not only meets the needs for larger prints but also handles mass production of small parts! With a maximum build size of 292 x 165 x 400mm, let's unbox it and check out its performance:
When using a 3D printer for prototype development or mass production, efficiency is key! The common goal is to print as many models as possible in the shortest amount of time. The Flashforge Foto 13.3 has a total build volume of 19 liters, four times that of a typical resin 3D printer. Not only can it print larger models, but it also efficiently produces large quantities of items like jewelry, replacement parts, and assembly models.

First, unpack and take out the Flashforge Foto 13.3 LCD 3D printer. Opening the doors on both sides fully exposes the sealed space inside the machine. Next, loosen the fixing screw at the top of the build platform, and remove the sponge in the middle. You'll find a complete toolkit and resin materials inside.

Included in the box:
.1 bottle of Flashforge resin
.Power cord
.User manual
.Metal/plastic scraper
.Brush
.Gloves
.USB
.Wrench
.Tweezers
.Pliers
.Filter paper

.3-Step Calibration
When first unboxing the machine, it is necessary to "calibrate" it before use to ensure stable and accurate operation. Calibration of a resin 3D printer mainly involves adjusting the Z-axis before printing, aligning the 3D printing platform with the LCD panel system:

1. Loosen the fixing screw
Remove the resin vat, then loosen the fixing screw on the build platform (no need to remove the platform itself).

2. Place paper, then one-touch start
Place three sheets of A4 paper on the LCD panel, then select "Tools" > "Z-axis movement" on the touchscreen, and tap "Reset." The print platform will automatically descend until it adheres closely to the bottom LCD panel. During this time, the touchscreen will display the real-time distance between the platform and the bottom panel. When the on-screen distance shows "Z: 0.00mm," it indicates that the platform has fully descended to the lowest point.

3. Tighten screws, raise platform
Once the bottom paper and the LCD panel are completely adhered, retighten the fixing screw on the platform. The standard is when you can move the three sheets of paper back and forth, but with some resistance. Finally, tap "Up" on the screen, and the platform will rise back to the top, completing the Z-axis calibration.

(After checking these three steps and confirming that the bottom LCD curing light is on, install the resin vat and you can start printing.)

Next, shake the photopolymer resin well and pour it into the resin vat. Refer to the scale lines in the resin vat for the amount of resin. Finally, close the light-shielding door of the 3D printer.

.Start 3D printing
1. Upload print file
Select "Print" on the touchscreen, then you can choose a pre-loaded model in the system or upload a 3D model file from a USB.

2. Tap start
After selecting the model you want to print, the screen will automatically display the model's appearance, estimated 3D print time, layer thickness, and the name of the resin to be used. If the information is correct, you can start printing.

After the resin 3D print is complete, there will be residual resin on the surface of the model. Rinse the remaining resin off the surface by immersing the print in alcohol, then use a UV secondary curing light to quickly cure the model. This time, we printed a dragon with a maximum 3D print size of 13 x 13 x 15.5 cm. From the fine granular texture on its chest to the wrinkles on its wings and the contours of its face, the level of completion and detail is extremely high, allowing you to create a Titan-class monster that hasn't even appeared in Godzilla yet! How was this review? A desktop-sized body with an ultra-large build volume, accommodating various sizes of models. 3DMart offers more than just 3D printing.
