[3D Scanning News] Portable Revopoint MINI: Precision Further Enhanced, the King of Reverse Engineering Arrives!
3D scanner manufacturer Revopoint has launched its latest 3D scanning system, which supports higher precision scanning, smoother operation, better color effects, infrared scanning with no irritating light source or industrial-grade blue light, high file format compatibility, automatic alignment and custom editing settings, and features a lightweight and portable design and easy connection.
Not everyone needs a 3D scanner capable of capturing large objects like cars or giant artifacts. Some users simply need to quickly scan small objects with intricate details. The Revopoint MINI is designed for the latter, saving space and being the company's first machine based on structured blue light technology. This full-color scanner is designed to combine performance and affordability, ensuring that anyone and everyone can capture the finest feature details in their 3D scanning projects.
Compared to Revopoint 's flagship POP 2 scanner, the new MINI has a smaller capture range and a higher scanning accuracy of only 0.02mm, making it suitable for a variety of small parts scanning applications with stringent accuracy requirements, including reverse engineering, dental modeling, jewelry, industrial quality control, and 3D printing .

Scan the art model using Revopoint MINI
The Revopoint MINI is lighter, smaller, and easier to operate.
The Revopoint MINI is known for its ease of use and simplicity. Weighing only 160 grams, it is designed to be as portable as possible. It can be used in handheld mode for larger parts and tripod mode for smaller parts. It also comes with a 360° turntable for easier use on flat surfaces.
Unlike many scanning systems that use laser technology, the MINI can operate without any target. The blue light technology that powers the machine is also designed to be insensitive to ambient light, thus capturing excellent detail even in well-lit environments. Thanks to its full-color capability, the system can easily and accurately recreate the color and texture of the scanned part. However, like any scanner on the market, a matte scan spray is still required when dealing with transparent, highly reflective, or jet-black surfaces.
The MINI can scan objects as small as 10 x 10 x 10 mm and as large as 500 x 500 x 500 mm. The system is equipped with a dual-camera setup, a dual-core ARM Cortex-A7 processor, and a scanning speed of 10 fps. Revopoint claims that the machine utilizes a new 3D scanning algorithm to achieve a smoother 3D scanning experience with minimal surface stitching errors.

MINI has its own advantages in dedicated dental model scanners.
The new software offers higher precision and captures more details.
Because the MINI is compatible with many of today's major third-party engineering and design software, it can send fully scanned 3D scan files (in STL, OBJ, or PLY) directly to any smart device for additional post-processing. Those who do not want to use the MicroUSB cable that comes with the scanner can choose to use Wi-Fi for data transfer, offering greater flexibility.
Users can also use Revopoint 's own software: Revo Scan for 3D scanning , Revo Studio for 3D model editing, and Revo Calibration for recalibrating 3D scanners and resetting factory settings. These software programs support a variety of functions, making the usage more diverse.

MINI is suitable for small parts applications such as jewelry.
More advanced technology, lower price
Below are the technical specifications of the Revopoint MINI 3D scanner , which will be more affordable than the POP 2 and is expected to be available in August 2022. The standard kit includes the Revopoint MINI , tripod, phone holder, calibration board, scanning board, and turntable, while the premium kit adds a handheld stabilizer and a high-performance dual-axis turntable.
