【3D Scanning】AESUB Blue vs. Orange: A Thorough Comparison of Volatilization Time and Effects


How fast do they volatilize? How much difference is there in scan results? We conducted a thorough comparison of AESUB Blue and Orange 3D scanning sprays! We 3D scanned a black electronic keyboard and compared their automatic volatilization, no-cleaning-required feature, and superior durability. Here are the results:

When 3D scanning materials that affect scan results due to light reflection or transmission, such as black fabric, transparent glass, or reflective metal surfaces, spraying a matte scanning spray on the surface allows for smooth scanning. However, when dealing with electronic products or fabric materials in 3D scanning, conventional matte scanning sprays can get into gaps like those in a keyboard. Wiping with a wet cloth or rinsing with water can also damage the scanned object.


Previously, we 3D scanned PC panels and business phones, and by utilizing the "automatic volatilization property" of AESUB Blue 3D scanning spray, we smoothly converted electronic products into 3D data (see also: Automatic Volatilization for No Cleaning? Eliminating Scan Material Limitations!). The newly released "AESUB Orange 3D scanning spray" from AESUB also features automatic volatilization, maintaining the benefit of no cleaning while achieving even greater durability.

This time, we used a black keyboard as the scanning target to test the adhesion and scanning effects of two types of 3D scanning matte sprays. AESUB Orange 3D scanning spray was applied to the left side of the keyboard, and AESUB Blue 3D scanning spray to the right side, and a SHINING 3D - EinScan Pro HD handheld 3D scanner was used for the 3D scan.


The 3D scan results of the black keyboard accurately converted every key, gap, and fine detail on the back into 3D data. By using AESUB Blue / Orange 3D scanning sprays, stable quality and good accuracy were achieved.


Finally, we applied one layer of AESUB Blue / Orange 3D scanning spray to each keyboard and tested how long it took for the two types of sprays to disappear.

AESUB Blue 3D scanning spray completely disappears within 3 hours, with a short volatilization time and no residue. It is suitable for scanning various small to medium-sized objects. On the other hand, AESUB Orange 3D scanning spray takes approximately 9 hours to completely disappear. Although the volatilization time is relatively long, it does not affect the quality of the 3D scan and is suitable for scanning medium to large objects. Additionally, the spray remains stably adhered to the scanned object even after the 3D scan is complete.
