Bambu Lab has evolved its flagship 3D printer, the P1S, through a comprehensive upgrade.
The P1 series was originally positioned between the entry-level "A1" and the high-end "X1 Carbon."
Now, with the H2D becoming the new flagship, the generational change of mid-range models is a natural progression.

The "Bambu Lab P2S AMS Combo" is a device capable of 4-color printing that combines many of the series' strengths while achieving an affordable price point.
It features the color touchscreen inherited from the X1 and the quick-change nozzle of the A1 (specifically, the upgraded version of the H2 series).
Furthermore, it comes standard with a high-definition camera, a USB port, a revamped cooling system, AI monitoring functions, and the latest "AMS 2 Pro".

Similar to the P1S, it includes all necessary functions while omitting excessive high-end features. The build volume remains the traditional 256mm cube, but it does not include LiDAR, a dual nozzle, or complex air guides. This is because the machine does not require them.

P2S Body Unboxing Report

The Bambu Lab P2S set includes all the tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies required for setup.
Test models are pre-installed in the internal memory, and it includes a scraper that can be assembled using the provided parts.

Accessories

Please be aware if you use a USB for saving time-lapse videos (a USB memory stick is not included).
The package includes a quick start guide and instructions for the slicing software and smartphone app. There's a QR code on the inside of the outer box which, when scanned, leads to an unboxing video.

New Design of the P2S

The most obvious improvement is the touchscreen, identical to that of the high-end H2 series. The tool head also inherits the design of the H2 series, adopting a steel head nozzle similar in shape to the A1, but different internally. It's secured with magnets and clips, making replacement extremely easy.

Nozzle Structure

The nozzles of the P2S and H2 are designed for high flow to match the high-speed Core XY drive. The adoption of this nozzle system, which is easy to maintain and resize, is a significant advantage for users.

Furthermore, the new "Active Airflow System" resolves the issue of needing to leave the door open during PLA printing. It draws cool air into the chamber and sends it to the side fan, preventing nozzle clogging and overhang collapse.

Airflow

The long-awaited addition of a USB port is also a crucial point. File transfer is significantly smoother compared to Micro SD cards. The camera has been upgraded to 1080p high frame rate specifications, and the AI monitoring system checks plate matching and monitors for nozzle issues.

AI Camera

Nozzle pressure is measured by a vortex sensor, and flow is automatically adjusted. The new extruder system provides a maximum extrusion force of 8.5 kg, an improvement of about 70% compared to the old model. Coupled with the filament tangle sensor, it prevents print failures before they occur.

Internal Structure

Other parts inherit the well-regarded high-speed, high-precision Core XY motion system. Highly sensitive automatic bed leveling eliminates the need for Z-axis adjustment. You can start printing immediately after a few minutes of calibration.

Print Quality AMS 2 Pro

The P2S Combo comes standard with the new 4-color automatic material system, "AMS 2 Pro". It also functions as a filament dryer, maintaining low humidity through an active ventilation design. Maintainability has also been improved, making it easier to remove broken filament inside.
