Available in six colors: yellow, blue, white, black, gray, and red.
The main advantages and common properties of ABS:
• Low cost, easy to sand
• Good impact resistance and abrasion resistance
• More heat-resistant than PLA, making it suitable for printing outdoor products.
• Stronger than PLA, less prone to breakage.
• Excellent impact and abrasion resistance, suitable for use in electrical appliance housings, sporting goods accessories, and automotive parts.
• The phenomenon of wire drawing is relatively rare.
• The model has a smooth, glossy surface and comes in a variety of colors.
Why use ABS?
ABS is one of the earliest and most commonly used 3D filaments. It is strong and heat-resistant, making it suitable for use in hot environments. It is also resistant to weathering and is easier to bend than PLA. It can even be used for parts subjected to mechanical stress, and can be used to manufacture most industrial parts.
ABS is not easily stretched or deformed, and has moderate flexibility, making it less likely to develop permanent deformation.
ABS has a lower cost, good mechanical properties (high toughness, impact resistance), can print durable parts, and can withstand wear and shrinkage more than PLA.
In 3D printing parameter settings, the typical printhead heating temperature for ABS is 245 to 265°C, while the substrate temperature is 90-100°C.
(The above parameters are based on PolyMaker PolyLite ABS as an example)
