The Sinterit SLS 3D printer can use two types of materials, which significantly affect the mechanical properties of the printed objects. Depending on the materials used in the sintering process, the printed objects can be elastic or tough, and are very durable.
PA12 is a polyamide powder with a particle size of 20-100 microns. The black and smooth material is suitable for printing highly detailed objects, is hard, and extremely durable under adverse conditions such as temperature. Due to its mechanical strength and heat resistance, it is a perfect material for functional prototypes or end-use parts.
Cleaning powder is a smooth, virgin PA12 powder that is only used to clean up any remaining powder after printing and during the printing cleaning process. After cleaning with 30% fresh powder (which needs to be mixed), the unsintered powder can be used for the next printing.
