[3D Scanning] Peel 3D reverse engineering is twice as fast as replicating rare Porsche sports cars!
Replicating Porsche's discontinued sports cars! Peel 3D scanner , double the efficiency for left and right copying. Porsche is a German car manufacturer with worldwide fame, producing a large number of sports cars, SUVs and sedans that are sold globally. To replicate the appearance of classic models, Porsche combined 3D printing , 3D scanning and CNC milling engineering technology for this massive project!
Replicating a car model that is about to be discontinued is quite difficult. In the past, most of the car's structure and parts were made of steel. Now, to reproduce them is very difficult, time-consuming, and costly. Traditionally, car parts are made directly on the car body and the finished product is reused to replicate the mold, but the process is very chaotic and complex, and it is impossible to guarantee uniform precision.
Industrial designer Patrick Nguyen and his design team Patritti Design Performance specialize in using composite materials to replicate car body panels. This time, they collaborated with the Peel 3d scanning team to participate in this delicate and highly skilled large-scale reverse engineering process.
" The Peel 3d scanner can not only 3D scan large objects and accurately capture the details, geometry, and streamlined shape of cars, but Peel 3d 's dedicated post-processing software also has precise editing functions and professional algorithms that can quickly generate smooth and non-rough model surfaces," said Patrick Nguyen.
Most cars have a symmetrical appearance. Using the Peel 3D scanner to create car models only requires scanning the right side of the car body, then performing the "mirror" function to instantly generate the left side. The operation is incredibly simple and twice as fast! For reflective metal bodies and parts, 3D scanning powder can be pre-applied to ensure a smooth 3D scan . Finally, the reverse-engineered car model is converted into a CAD model, and then mass-produced using technologies such as 3D printing and CNC milling , by selecting the type of material according to the requirements. This successfully saves production time and costs, and can create unlimited benefits for enterprises in industrial applications.
