Commercial licenses are essential for creators and users who sell 3D model prints on MakerWorld.
This is why we launched the Bambu Lab Business License Membership.
Since the launch of MakerWorld in 2023, many creators have been eagerly anticipating this moment.
While there are various ways to monetize 3D printed models, Bambu Lab has chosen to make minimal changes and keep the entire database freely available for personal use for the time being.
All content you see while browsing or searching is downloadable, without payment or login required.
What are the benefits?
The Commercial License membership simplifies how creators offer commercial licenses and how manufacturers purchase commercial licenses.
This simplifies the process for those who want to sell printouts of model entities downloaded from MakerWorld, while retaining free designs available for personal use.
This enhancement will support the growing community of creators, particularly those in exclusive modeling programs who previously had to use platforms like Patreon for commercial licensing.
Now, everything can be managed in one place.

Operating methods
To ensure quality and prevent abuse, creators wishing to establish a commercial membership must have at least 200 followers and 600 works, and have not violated the rules in the past 90 days (except for bug reports).
Well-known creators on other platforms can contact models@makerworld.com for assistance. Bambu Lab extended an invitation to this project.
Membership prices are set by individual designers and creators, ranging from $3 to $300 per month.
This monthly subscription system provides creators with flexible options for engaging with the community.
This model gives creators complete control over how they reach their audience, with pricing, rewards, and other details entirely up to them.
Funds are transferred directly from subscribers to creators, and a 10% platform fee is charged to support Bambu Lab's community development and operations.
Currently, PayPal is the only payment system for this system, so both creators and subscribers need to have a PayPal account.
You can customize the subscription tier name, monthly price, details of the commercial license itself, and welcome message for new subscribers.
also, Bambu Lab has also launched a tool called "Business License Assistant".
If you are unsure which rights to grant to subscribers, you can use this tool to simplify the process of generating a summary of all rights and restrictions for a commercial license.
You can still choose to modify its content by adding, deleting, or editing in the Authorization Assistant.
