Ultimaker Advanced Accessories

When Ultimaker introduced new materials last time, many people may have worried that some special materials would be difficult to print. This time, Ultimaker has launched an advanced 3D printing accessory kit , which allows your objects to be printed in a more stable environment and adhere better to the platform, reducing warping!

Accessories include:

1. Two 0.4mm nozzles

The extra 0.4mm nozzle can be used to replace your nozzle when it is severely clogged and nozzle cleaning methods are no longer effective. It also allows you to use different nozzles for different materials.

2. TFM couplers x2

Many industrial applications involve materials that require high printing temperatures, which can reduce the lifespan of TFM couplers. Having two spare couplers on hand allows you to replace them promptly when needed, minimizing machine downtime.

3. Platform stickers x25

Platform stickers are suitable for various materials and can replace lipstick glue for repeated use, improving the adhesion between the platform and the object. However, when applying the sticker, care must be taken to ensure that there are no air bubbles between the sticker and the platform, and that it is applied smoothly and evenly.

4. Door panel x1

Back when printing materials with high shrinkage or warping rates, door panels were very effective. In addition to blocking external interference (natural wind, electric fans, air conditioning, etc.), they could also keep the printing space operating at a stable temperature, allowing the material to cool more synchronously and reducing the chance of warping and breakage.

When should you use advanced 3D printing accessories?

The Advanced 3D Printing Accessory Kit can be used with all Ultimaker materials, significantly enhancing the finished product's appearance with certain materials.

The use of a door panel is strongly recommended, especially for materials that require high temperatures during printing or have poor layer adhesion. Because the door panel maintains the temperature inside the 3D printer, it prevents peeling and improves the appearance quality of the finished product.
Door panels made of other materials (PLA, nylon, and TPU 95A, etc.) are not necessary, but they can still be used in combination. Door panels will not have a negative impact on the quality of printed products; on the contrary, they may make the finished products have better and more stable quality.
For platform stickers, CPE+ and PC materials are highly recommended. These materials require a heating plate temperature of 110ºC, but even at 110ºC, the plate may still warp. Using stickers can greatly improve the fit between the object and the platform.
For most materials, you can selectively use lipstick glue or adhesive to improve adhesion. However, we do not recommend using it for TPU 95A, because this material itself has very good adhesion. Using glue or platform stickers will only make the object more difficult to remove.
